What do you want from a weekend?

Hint, a little bit of sunshine

Welcome back to the Sweet spot!!

Let’s have another Monday series…

Another weekend has come and gone. I hope you had a fantastic weekend.

It started dull and dreary. As it progressed, the sun poked its head above the parapet and graced us with possibly the best day of the year so far.

Tans toped up and positively recharged for the week to come.

Let’s touch on a few of the things happening around the city, past and present.

First, we had Take That at Musgrave Park to start the weekend.

Prepare for an unforgettable show that will leave a lasting impression on everyone in attendance.

It's never been the same since Robbie left, though.

There are so many events going on this summer, and one that I enjoyed that I'm not sure is on many people's radar is at the Crawford Art Gallery.

It’s slightly different from the regular series called Wiff Waff is playing at my gaff.

Brand new, first time in Cork. For lack of a better descriptor, imagine crazy golf done as table tennis.

Continuing until the 7th of July, it will at least make an interesting couple of hours and a good wander around the gallery before the renovations start.

The Crawford Gallery is one of the city’s only cultural areas, and it is always worth visiting to see what's going on.

WIFF WAFF is playing at my gaff

Saturday night brought back to the 90s at LATM.

Some of the biggest acts of the 90s came to town, such as Haddaway and Mark McCabe. Everyone remembers Haddaway for that one song, which is a cracking tune. Sure, you have some very fond memories to look back on with that song; it's been everywhere.

Used in movies and is instantly recognisable.

Want a little nostalgia here you go.

Come on, add a little head bob while you're at it.

there are so many upcoming gigs this summer.

Here is a quick link to gigs where something for everyone is happening here.

Life is short, and we need to enjoy it every day.

Find something you want to do and take it with both hands.

There are always those certain songs that get you going no matter what.

Anyway, don’t forget the Sunday trad sessions that take place at both Sin é and an_spailpin_fanac.

These are absolutely free and always good craic that we have on our doorstep.

These are part of the culture of Cork and Ireland. Keep in mind our proud heritage. Support our heritage and enjoy the proud traditions that are kept alive and well within our proud country.

As always, I hope you have an amazing week and look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday for our Recipe Wednesdays!

Stay Sweet

Dominic.
